Mindfulness Courses
Mindfulness really is in the interest of becoming the person we are meant to be.

We can get lost on the treadmill of life, constantly striving for something or trapped by our patterns of behaviour, our fears, hurts and prejudices. Apparently free, but driven and controlled. By engaging in a mindfulness practice we learn to become present to ourselves and befriend ourselves with tenderness.

I teach two mindfulness-based courses from a dedicated, welcoming space in Dublin 6. These courses are designed to develop your capacity to manage stress, anxiety, depression and life's challenges through mindfulness and meditation. Ultimately, you will be shown how to access your own innate strength and resources so that you can gain greater control over your life.

Course 1: Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Mindfulness awareness is central to both courses. Participants are invited to pay close attention to their inner states such as thoughts, emotions and physical sensations on a moment by moment basis. Often, we worry about what has happened or what is going to happen, mindfulness training enables us to respond skilfully to whatever is occurring right now, either pleasant or unpleasant.
The course curriculum builds on a week to week, scaffolding content, themes and practice. The themes range from "awareness of the automatic pilot", "gathering the scattered mind", "recognizing aversion" and "allowing and letting be".
The training is a blend of meditation, body awareness, and mindful movement. Courses are held in a group setting to allow for discussion and inquiry for greater learning.
